Make In India – Germany
Awards won: A bronze at the European Event Award, under the category of Best Cultural Performance, and a special prize for Best Technological Innovation.
Project Brief
Mayuri choreographed the opening ceremony of ‘Make In India’, the aim of which was to showcase India’s cultural richness.
This 15 minute piece featured Yoga, Chittara, Manipuri, PungCholom, Odissi, Mohiniyattam, Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Dollu Kunitha, Ganga Aarti and Gatka. The artists were selecetd after a nationwide audtion.
Towards the end, the atmosphere in Hanover had become overwhelmingly patriotic and the artists were cheered by the slogans of Vande Matram.
